Enter up to 20 Links (Each Links must be on separate line)
Using Moz's exclusive Domain Authority metric, known as "DA," a Domain Authority Checker allows you to compare websites. Free SEO Pro offers an web checker service that allows you add up to 20 site links, submit them and offers a CSV export! It comes in handy with bloggers, marketers, SEO professionals, as well as website owners, to view the backlink profile or to find out what their competition is doing. Domain Authority is an idea of how strong a site is in comparison and isn't a Google factor, also can't make any guarantees on ranking positions.
A Domain Authority Checker is intended to show a measure of authority for a website's domain.
Domain Authority is another metric that is unique to the company Moz. It evaluates the possibility of a domain getting placed in search outcomes versus other Web sites.
The range on the DA scores is 1 to 100 marks. The higher scores will usually mean a better ranking within Moz's scoring model.
Moz uses data from their Link Index and machine learning algorithms to determine a website's Domain Authority.
But DA won't directly reveal the benefit of your content, the satisfaction of your customers or the visitors who hit your site.
The number is most helpful comparing other competitors, not when viewed as a definitive SEO goal.
The interface you can see in the screen contains a text field to type up to 20 links and the instructions to do so.
Each address should be entered on a separate line.
There's a Submit button, a processing indication, an Export as CSV button, and a Try New URL link as well.
These are representative of what might be used to verify multiple domains and view results at once.
However, the completed report and accuracy of its authority measurements haven't been independently tested.
Bulk checking allows you to compare multiple potential websites without creating requests to each individual website one by one.
Some of these may include your website and 4 websites of your competitors.
The interface has a limit of 20 links subsmittable. There is no information on larger batches or other variations of setting up the site.
Moz builds DA based on data of websites and linking relationships.
It has a scoring system that takes into account several signals via a machine learning model.
The formula to make the complete calculation is not made public.
Backlink refers to inbound links that a website has to others.
Backlinks can aid search engines to locate pages and also understand the relationship in between websites.
But it is not just about the number of backlinks, as this does not create authority or ensure a higher rank.
A referring domain is a distinct website linking to your website.
If someone blogs 5 articles connecting to your business, this could be considered five backlinks, but only one referring domain.
This will be an important factor to distinguish while comparing backlink profiles.
Inbound links from existing and relevant websites are useful for context.
Doing a link with a legitimate industry website could be worth more than many other disassociated directory links.
Domain Authority should not be taken as the number of backlinks.
Moz's model factors in link information to determine a relative ranking strength.
Any changes to Moz's link index, methodologies or competitive landscape can result in scores changing.
An unchanged backlink profile doesn't guarantee an unchanged DA score.
Use the prompt that are displayed in the tool interface:
On your Free SEO Pro run the Open Domain Authority Checker.
2. Choose the sites you wish to explore.
3. Use their public web addresses and save their addresses.
4. Fill in the addresses in the text box.
5. Enter one each link to each of the Web sites on a line.
6. Remember to stay under the 20-link limit that are displayed.
7. Click Submit to start the processing.
8. Check the processed results.
9. Make a comparison of authority measures for related domains.
10. If you have a complete report you can download it as CSV.
To run another check, click on Try New URL.
Select sites that have similar audiences, or that are bidding on similar keywords.
That may show a massive authority difference if you have a small gardening blog versus a big international news site, but it's not necessarily going to help you excel at gardening.
Make a comparison of the realistic competitors first.
Suppose you are running a site for a selling handmade furniture.
You'd like to compare its authority to 3 other competitors who sell similar products.
The following scores are for a hypothetical report:
|
Website |
Example DA |
|---|---|
|
Your furniture website |
19 |
|
Competitor A |
34 |
|
Competitor B |
27 |
|
Competitor C |
22 |
Very artificial; not actual checker numbers.
Estimated overall Domain Authority of "Competitor A" is the highest.
That doesn't mean that Competitor A will 100% be ranked higher for every furniture related search query.
Your product pages might do a better job at addressing specific queries, and your competitors may have overall better backlink authority.
Practically, you can find out about the relevant referring domains, useful content and actual search performance.
The scale on DA is 1-100.
A higher score reflects a higher level of authority as estimated by Moz's model.
Again, there is no set quantity of DA you have to get to reach the first page of Google.
Domain Authority is a new index of the strength of an entire domain, while Page Authority is a new index of the strength of a single webpage.
The PA of a newly published article may be low, despite the fact that a website's DA is high.
Choose the measurement that is appropriate for your question of research.
An increase in DA could be due to changes in link information, or Moz's prediction model.
The reverse is true as well: A drop doesn't necessarily mean that Google is punishing your site.
Look at the changes in backlink profile and organic performance before deciding on things.
A missing score may be due to an input error, data not being present, or a processing error.
It doesn't necessarily indicate that your site does not have backlinks and that it is not indexed in the search results.
Compare sites in your niche to get a view on the relative estimated authority of the sites.
Utilize them to discover competitors which will be more worth checking out.
Check authority and real backlink sources as well as referring domains.
Search for respectable publications, useful resources and editorial references.
Log authority scores along with organic clicks, impressions and referring domains at regular intervals.
Scoring can be helpful on a monthly basis, but not daily.
Authority discrepancies can serve to give context to the selection of competing topics.
But here we need to talk of search intent, content quality, website usability and technical accessibility.
The first one is when you think that Domain Authority is directly connected with the ranking of Google.
One is assuming that ALL backlinks are created equal.
Don't buy artificial links to boost a third party score!
If the checker fails to return results, check the addresses, clean up extraneous spaces, and only one link per line.
Make sure there are not more than 20 links on a submission.
Note that backlink databases and methods for calculating backlink scores vary between different services.
Domain Authority is not a metric provided by Google it's provided by Moz.
It cannot assure Website indexing, exact keyword position or guarantee organic traffic.
The Free SEO Pro page does not specify which underlying authority data provider is used, or the frequency of updates.
irements and the accuracy of the reporting process also need to be verified, as do successful CSV downloads and submitted URL retention practices.
The authority score of a domain is a tool that should complement and not be a substitute for doing research more broadly.
Avoid comparing domains to domains, only webpages through the Page Authority Checker.
Backlink Checker is used for checking backlinks or referring sites to the website.
To find historical link popularity terms, check out the MozRank Checker. MozRank is a defunct Moz metric and is not to be mistaken for the present day DA.
The Google Index Checker is about answering a different question: Do pages seem to be indexed, but if you're checking your own pages, Google Search Console is always better.
You can find Mozilla's Domain Authority explanation for official details.
Here are some tools to help you perform a blend of authority and backlink research and technical SEO audits.
A Domain Authority Checker enables you to compare websites based on Moz's Domain Authority. It does not provide real-time data from Google, but constructs the relative strength of a ranking with Moz's model.
One web address to each line and paste them into the text area. If successful click Submit and review the returned information and export the results.
The visible interface supports up to 20 links that are submitted. While it hasn't been confirmed whether it works well with larger numbers, break up long lists of websites into smaller ones.
There isn't a universally good DA score. You should compare your website to those of your relevant competitors, not to some number that isn't realistic for your audience.
Moz Domain Authority is rated on a scale of 1 to 100. The numbers do not reflect ranking probability or percentages; the higher the number the better the estimated ranking potential.
Domain Authority is not a Google product, but is a product made by Moz. Moz's DA score is not a direct factor for how Google's search systems rank.
DA is a measure of how authoritative a specific domain is deemed to be and PA is a gradual extent of an individual webpage. Both enable comparative studies, albeit with differing ranges and scores.
Low Authority sites are mostly seen in new sites and that's due to the limitation of links in their backlink profile. Scores may change as Moz discovers links and updates its calculations.
It could be a result of any of several changes in Moz's link data, scoring model or competitive comparisons. Try to find real backlinks and performance instead: assuming that something is wrong.
Although links count in Moz's calculations of authority, it's not guaranteed that you will get a specific boost when adding links. Sources, relationships and the overall link profile are more important than just numbers.
The tool will take public website URLs for comparing. Competitors' addresses may be submitted, but successful processing and scoring should be verified via a success completed lookup.
You can export as CSV in the Free SEO Pro interface. Successful downloads, however, and how downloaded reports are organized, have not been independently tested.
It may be due to an incorrect address, temporary processing failures, or missing authority data. Review the input format, and verify vital measurements via alternate proven service.
Usually, the monthly monitoring can be sufficient to see the long-term trends. Don't retouch based on these slight score fluctuations; make sure to take note of the date and analyze relevant competitors as well as organic performance.
Analyze Backlinks, Make content analysis with competitors, Optimize useful pages, and check Google Search Console. Consider DA to be an assisting tool for your SEO achievement, not your main measurement.
